Silver Haired Surfer
Supercilious and youthful, they
hang in the beach lot.
Their postures assumed for the bikinis
so hot
In to the entrance pulls a new SUV,
A long board on the roof as all
can see
Its driverss hair is a silver flicked
mane
He’s older and thicker; the hotdogs
wonder why this guy came
He unloads his board from off of
his truck
But with his head the young ones
think they will f*ck
Hey old-timer you think that boards
long enough?
He smile and nods twenty years ago
he remembers all his pumped up guff
But the silver haired surfer knows
why he’s here
It’s not for the babes it’s not
for the beer
He’s not here for the youngsters
respect to earn
He knows all the lessons that they’ve
yet to learn
He comes to this place to save his
soul
To let Mother Ocean make him whole
He’s here to find his higher power
In this place of his youth that
he spent so many an hour
He can surf with the best, but that’s
not why he came
He’s here cause Mother Ocean waves
keep him sane
